Eglise Saint-Jean-Bosco

Religion · by Duval fils Georges, Robert Courel · 1962

17 rue de la Touques, Lisieux, France

In 1954, the municipal council of Lisieux decided to finance the construction of churches for two new parishes, Saint-Jean-Bosco and Saint-Joseph, using remaining war damage compensation funds from the Saint-Jacques church. The construction process began in July 1961, permitting the buildings on two plots sold by the diocesan association, which contributed a third of the project's funding. The original design for Saint-Jean-Bosco, submitted in September 1961, was revised to eliminate the bell tower, and the building permit was granted in January 1962.
