Église Saint-Laurent
Religion · by Jean Bourgon · 1952
place Général Hell, Azerailles, France
The Saint-Laurent Church, inaugurated in 1954, replaces the former church that was destroyed by Allied bombings a decade earlier. Its construction is part of a reconstruction plan for the village center and its essential facilities, including a school, town hall, and presbytery, designed by urban planner Adrien Michaut. The architectural project for the new church was assigned to Jean Bourgon, an architect from Nancy recognized for his work on the Montbois university campus in Nancy. This church symbolizes the village's recovery and renewal post-war.
