Église Saint-Léon
Religion · by Émile Brunet · 1924
29 rue Dupleix, Paris 15e Arrondissement, France
In 1913, the diocesan commission initiated a competition for the construction of a parish church dedicated to Saint Léon in the Dupleix neighborhood. Architect Émile Brunet, a student of Anatole de Baudot, won the competition. Construction began in 1924 and was completed in phases by 1934. Brunet designed the church inspired by medieval architecture, reflecting a rationalist approach. The layout features a traditional Latin cross plan, with a nave flanked by two aisles, a transept, and a semi-circular apse.
