7 Rue de la Fédération, 75015 Paris, France
The Australian Embassy in Paris occupies a purpose-built complex near the Champ de Mars, extending along Rue Jean Rey and Rue de la Fédération in the 15th arrondissement. Designed by Australian architect Harry Seidler and inaugurated in 1977, the ensemble brings together the chancery and services supporting Australia’s diplomatic presence in France. The site houses the embassy as well as Australia’s permanent delegations to the OECD and UNESCO. Set a short walk from Bir-Hakeim bridge and the Eiffel Tower, the complex forms a distinctive modern intervention within a dense urban context.
