Église Saint-Michel
Religion · by Roger Nédonchelle · 1957
5 rue Simon-Bolivar, Goussainville, France
Saint-Michel Church, designed by architect Roger Nedonchelle and constructed starting in 1956, replaces an old wooden chapel at the request of Abbé Gaultier. The elongated structure features a slate-covered roof and is built from granite rubble imported from Huelgoat, showcasing regular alternating courses. A square bell tower is connected to the church by a small gallery, while the entrance is sheltered by an extended roof that displays a large wooden cross. The gable wall is accentuated at the top by large glass panels set in a cement framework, created by artisans Jacques and Mireille Juteau.
