"Église Saint-Paul reconvertie en centre culturel"
Religion · by Pierre Mazerand · 1961
avenue de l'Europe, Laxou, France
The Saint-Paul parish complex in Laxou was built between 1961 and 1965 within the Provinces housing estate, a collective residential area developed in the 1950s. Situated along avenue de l'Europe, the main axis of the new neighborhood, the design by architect Pierre Mazerand reflects the principles outlined by Abbé Hoffele in 1961, which emphasized the importance of engaging with the parish community in the church-building process. Mazerand, who also designed other structures in the vicinity, aimed to create a living community through the architectural integration of the church within the neighborhood.
