Ensemble Sixte Isnard : groupe scolaire, résidences, espaces extérieurs et parc public

Urban planning · by Bourgoin Max, Albert Conil · 1960

31ter avenue de la Trillade, Avignon, France

The project is situated on a site previously owned by the Hospices and Hospitals of Avignon, bequeathed by François Balthazard Sixte-Isnard. It addresses the needs created by post-war housing shortages and demographic expansion, replacing former war refugee accommodations. Initiated by the Vaucluse HLM cooperative, the development consists of educational facilities, residential units, and public spaces, with the residential component now functioning as private co-ownership while the school remains municipal. The design reflects a response to historical context and contemporary urban challenges.
