Francis de Croisset University Residences

Collective housing · by AS.Architecture-Studio · 1996

France

Placed alongside the périphérique, the residence turns acoustic constraint into a design driver. Its envelope and internal organisation work as a protective filter, reducing exposure to traffic while still bringing light into student rooms. The building’s long profile is punctuated and shaped so it does not simply read as a defensive barrier. It is an instructive example of housing that transforms environmental pressure into architectural form.
