Grand magasin les Nouvelles Galeries
Commerce · by Dubard de Gaillarbois André, Dory Antoine, René Mailhe · 1960
4-8 rue Lapeyrouse, Toulouse, France
The Nouvelles Galeries department store, now known as Galeries Lafayette, was built in 1960 for the Société immobilière des Nouvelles Galeries based on designs by Parisian architects André Dubard de Gaillarbois and Antoine Dory, in collaboration with Toulouse architect René Mialhe. Located near Rue Alsace-Lorraine, the building incorporates elements of the 17th-century Caulet-Resseguier hotel, which was partially demolished for the project. The original roofs and the façade facing Rue du Lieutenant Colonel Pélissier were preserved. The remaining parts of the hotel were classified as historic monuments in 1961.
