293-295 avenue Jean-Jaurès, Lyon 7e Arrondissement;Métropole de Lyon, France
The Groupe scolaire Aristide-Briand was conceived in response to the increasing population in the Gerland district of Lyon, following the establishment of low-cost housing in 1923 and the relocation of local abattoirs in 1928. Recognizing the need for educational facilities, the city decided to build a new school in October 1927, appointing architects Robert Auguste and Émile-Auguste Chollat. The final design was completed in 1932, featuring a relief sculpture by P. Devaux on the main façade. Construction commenced the same year, and the school was officially inaugurated in December 1934.
