Hôtel Mezzara

62 Rue Jean de La Fontaine, 75016 Paris, France
An Art Nouveau private mansion in the Auteuil quarter, the Hôtel Mezzara was designed by Hector Guimard for textile and lace designer Paul Mezzara and built in 1910–1911. Behind its sober street façade, a generous double-height hall is lit by a large colored glass canopy intended to showcase the patron’s creations. The house preserves refined Guimard-designed joinery, ironwork and organic mouldings; the dining room includes a painting by Charlotte Chauchet-Guilleré. After serving a private school between the wars, it became an annex of the Foyer des Lycéennes in 1956. The entire property, including garden and railings, has been protected as a Monument historique since 2016.
