Les Collines de l'Arche
Office · by Buffi Associés · 1991
France
A large La Défense office complex designed as stepped volumes rather than a single vertical tower. The terraced massing breaks down scale and creates usable exterior edges, giving the project a more topographic presence in a district dominated by high-rise silhouettes. This approach helps relate the building to pedestrian routes and public spaces near the Grande Arche. The architecture emphasizes continuity and frontage, supporting office occupation while also shaping the ground-level experience. It is a workplace environment designed with urban integration in mind, using sectional moves and terraces to soften the typical corporate block.
