Lycée Jean Monnet
Education · by Barbé Guy · 1955
128 avenue Jean Jaurès, Montrouge, France
The Lycée Jean Monnet is a representative example of post-war educational architecture, constructed under state guidance to accommodate a short, mass technical training cycle. It illustrates the convergence of architectural design focused on education and utilitarian functions, including distribution spaces, workshops, and the courtyard's role. The building features a carefully designed hall and quality decorations funded by the 1% artistic initiative. It remains one of the few surviving examples in a condition close to its original state, with its educational program still actively offered. This structure reflects a typological rebalancing of the educational architecture selection.
