Opus 12

Office · by Valode & Pistre · 2004

France

A refurbishment that rethinks an older La Défense office block as a brighter, more permeable workplace. The intervention focuses on the envelope—adding depth, transparency, and better daylighting rather than simply changing finishes. A more legible entry sequence helps the building read from the esplanade, while upgraded glazing and shading improve comfort. Inside, circulation and shared areas are reorganized to support flexible floor plates and contemporary uses. The result is a pragmatic upgrade that aims to extend the building’s life and reduce operational energy through a smarter façade.
