Education · by Jean Benoît · 1933

place Pasteur ; boulevard Maréchal-Joffre  ; rue du 4e-régiment du Génie, Grenoble, France

After World War I, the University of Grenoble expanded significantly, leading to the conception of a student residence known as the "Maison des Étudiants." On April 15, 1933, the rector secured a construction permit for this building, located near the Exhibition Park along the boulevards. The design was entrusted to the local architect Jean Benoît, although only the first phase was completed. In 1948, the City of Grenoble provided land on Boulevard Maréchal Joffre to the University for the purpose of expanding the Maison des Étudiants. This extension was also constructed according to Benoît's original plans.
