Route départementale 57, Langeais;Chapelle-aux-Naux (La), France

The Langeais Bridge, designed by architect Phidias Vestier, connects the communes of Langeais and La Chapelle-aux-Naux in western Touraine. Originally inaugurated in 1849, it has been rebuilt twice, with the current structure completed in 1888. The bridge spans 357 meters and features five spans supported by masonry piers in the riverbed. Each pier is crowned with a neoclassical masonry arch, which, while structurally unnecessary, enhances the bridge's monumental character. This history reflects the bridge's significance in the region's architectural landscape.
