Villa Pointe d'aube

House · by Farges Julien · 1961

24 rue de Beaumanoir, Fondettes, France

The northern hills of the Loire have been favored by the Touraine bourgeoisie since the late 19th century, leading to the construction of villas in coastal or regional styles. However, architect-designed homes became less common after World War II due to increased suburbanization and the rise of mass housing. In 1961, architect Julien Farges, originally from Tours but working primarily in the Paris region, designed a large family villa for a local notable within a residential development characterized by its remarkable landscaping quality.
