Résidence Honoré-de-Balzac
Urban planning · by Hardion Joël, Jean Niermans, Michel Niermans, Pierre Dalloz · 1978
avenue Stendhal, Tours, France
The development of the Cher Valley through Tours began in 1962, aiming to straighten the river's course and protect adjacent meadows alongside Avenue de Grammont. Following the completion of 2,300 residences in the Rives-du-Cher, recognized for their remarkable contemporary architecture, an additional 5,000 homes were initiated in the Rochepinard and Fontaines districts starting in 1968, under a master plan by Joël Hardion. The project underwent several revisions to ensure economic viability and address the increasing public skepticism towards large-scale housing complexes.
