Unité d'architecture pédagogique, école d'architecture ENSA de Montpellier

Education · by Édouard Gallix, Michel Rueg, Doumenc Luc, Leccia Jean-Jacques, Rey Jean-Pierre, Szczot Frédéric · 1976

179 rue de l'Espérou, Montpellier, France

In 1968, a program was initiated in France to create twenty-two architectural teaching units (UPA). In Montpellier, what was previously a branch of the regional school of architecture in Marseille became an autonomous entity, emphasizing exchange, dialogue, and educational renewal. The winning project, designed by Edouard Gallix and his collaborators, reflects this innovative vision. Constructed between 1976 and 1978 in the residential area of Plan des Quatre-Seigneurs, the building is a product of collaboration between faculty and students of the school.
