Jean-Claude Carrière Theatre

The theatre is conceived as a compact acoustic instrument: warm interior surfaces and carefully shaped volumes focus attention on voice and music. Back-of-house functions are compressed so public spaces feel unusually generous for a small venue, with clear sightlines and intuitive wayfinding. Materials are selected for atmosphere as much as performance—wood tones and soft light create a sense of intimacy even at full capacity. Rather than monumentalizing the exterior, the building saves its drama for the moment you enter and the room tightens around the stage.
