ligne de Longeray-Bouveret (104, 147 km), Leaz, France
The Longeray railway viaduct, completed in 1881 as part of the Bellegarde-Saint-Gingolph line in Haute-Savoie, spans the Rhône river near the village of Longeray in Léaz. The structure features a 210-meter long metal deck supported by five masonry piers, each 52 meters tall on the Bellegarde side, and five arches with a 15-meter span. The viaduct is composed of four interconnected metal beams with spans of 48, 58, 69, and 54 meters, all resting on the masonry piers. This engineering accomplishment exemplifies the intricate design and construction techniques of its time.
