Villa Arguia
House · by Charles Siclis · 1927
9, 11 allée des Crêtes, Anglet, France
Villa Arguia, designed by Charles Siclis in 1927 for an American textile industrialist, features a composition of four interlocking rectangular volumes of varying heights. The building showcases uniformly white façades adorned with a modest tiled cornice below the flat roof. Square and vertical black metal window frames punctuate the elevations, while a bow-window extends on the west side. To the north, the cubic volumes, limited to a single level, are punctuated by semicircular arches with corresponding window frames. Access to the villa is via the south side, where a cantilevered terrace is sheltered by an awning supported by white concrete pillars.
