Village

Moyenvic, France
Titled "Village," the architectural project in Moyenvic, France, was initiated during the German Occupation with the construction of a hereditary farm. Following the Liberation, Gil Bureau was entrusted with the reconstruction, empowered by urban planner Pierre Pagnon. Sensitive to rural housing issues, Bureau developed a modern farm model, leading to approximately fifteen completions. In addition to private residences, the project included the reconstruction of the parish church, a prominent example of 1950s aesthetics in Moselle. The design, initially criticized, was likely refined through collaboration with Félix Madeline, a specialist in religious architecture who co-signed the plans.
