The aeronautical engineer Jean Bertin founded a company in 1955 aimed at utilizing technology transfers, particularly in transportation. His work led to the development of systems leveraging ground effect and air cushion displacement, significantly reducing friction between the vehicle and the ground. In 1965, with support from the Interministerial Delegation for Territorial Development and Regional Attractiveness (DATAR), Bertin and his company created a special organization to design prototypes intended for medium to long-distance passenger transport. The remnants of this innovative project can still be observed in the areas surrounding Artenay, Cercottes, Chevilly, Ruan, and Saran, France.
