Amphithéâtres Platon-Aristote du campus universitaire de Montmuzard
Education · by Barade Roger Martin · 1969
2 boulevard Gabriel, Dijon, France
The building, inaugurated in 1969, consists of two amphitheaters with capacities of 200 and 400 seats, serving the faculties of Letters and Law at the Montmuzard university campus. These facilities were part of a broader construction initiative led by rector Marcel Bouchard in the 1950s, who originally aimed to create larger amphitheaters for all faculties. However, funding limitations imposed by the ministry resulted in a reduced scale of development, focusing on the 200-seat capacity. Bouchard's preference for quality materials led to a rejection of cheaper construction options like facing stone.
