43 faubourg des Ancêtres, Belfort, France

In 1995, the city of Belfort initiated plans to renovate the Marc Bloch university center, aiming to replace the existing building "A" of the former Courbet high school, which housed 11 classrooms and offices within approximately 200 m². A new university library is proposed near the Savoureuse river, situated in the city center below the historic fortifications built by Vauban. The site is bordered by Faubourg des Ancêtres street and is positioned between a 19th-century temple and the IUFM building. The surrounding area predominantly consists of commercial establishments and educational facilities, with the library located adjacent to both the University and the IUT.
