Chapelle Saint-Vincent
Religion · by Karazinski Roman · 1954
3 rue Daniel, Coutances, France
The Saint-Vincent Chapel, designed by architect Romain Karasinski in 1949 and completed in 1954, is part of the reconstruction of Coutances. This small building is constructed using exposed concrete, revealing formwork marks on its walls and ceiling. A row of band windows on the southern side allows zenithal lighting between a blind wall and a wavy vault supported by inverted conical concrete columns. The northern facade features wood-framed lattice panels arranged in a sawtooth pattern.
