Église Saint-Georges
Religion · by Le Breton Pierre-André · 1959
le Haut Manoir, Raids, France
The church in Raids was rebuilt in 1958 by architects Pierre-André Le Breton, André Martinet, and Yves Maublanc in a regionalist style, featuring stone walls and a slate roof. The Latin cross plan consists of a single nave, a prominent transept, and a semi-circular apse. These simple volumes are enhanced by an exterior bell tower with a double-pitched roof, located on the south side of the main façade, intended to house the baptistery. This formal simplicity is echoed in the interior, where the truss beams are exposed in the nave.
