"cité dite La ""Grande Maison"""
House · by Henri Joulie · 1932
rue du Docteur-Roux, Valence, France
La Grande Maison is the first building of the Valensolles garden city, located south of Valence, constructed in 1932 by the city's Public Housing Office. This initiative was a response to the housing crisis, following the Loucheur law of July 13, 1928. The site was supplied by the city and originated from the division of the Valensolles castle property. The initial plan aimed to create 303 housing units, including individual houses for sale or rent and collective buildings for rental purposes. Ultimately, 110 homes were completed, with La Grande Maison being a significant part of this development.
