Église Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc
Religion · by Pierre Chirol · 1929
rue Albert-Poulain, Charleville-Mézières, France
The Sainte-Jeanne-d'Arc Church in Charleville-Mézières was conceived as a fulfillment of a vow made during World War I, promising to honor Joan of Arc for the city's survival. Driven by determination, Abbé Léopold Jacquart led the project to realize this commitment. The design of the church drew inspiration from the Saint Nicaise Church in Reims. The foundation stone was laid on June 30, 1929, by Cardinal Luçon, the Archbishop of Reims, marking a significant moment in the city's history and architectural landscape.
