Église Sainte-Thérèse
Religion · by Pierre Dumas, Bonato, Pierre Chevalley · 1964
16 avenue du Château d'Eau, Belfort, France
In 1959, the diocesan association of Besançon submitted a building permit application for an church, two catechism rooms, and a chapel. Initially sketched by Swiss architect Fernand Dumas, the project was later executed by his son Pierre. It was intended to replace a temporary church located along the edge of the planned site. By 1960, the foundation was in place, followed by the construction of the reflective wall in 1962, and the annexes in 1963. Swiss painter Pierre Chevalley created the decorative elements using color applied onto plexiglass, covered with a layer of liquid plastic. The church was completed and accepted in 1964.
