10 rue Mougel-Bey, Bresse (La), France
The village of La Bresse, situated in the Moselotte valley, was heavily damaged during World War II. Its church, originally built in 1752 and expanded in the 19th century, suffered partial destruction. From 1951 to 1952, designer Gabriel Loire provided models for the church's stained glass, resulting in twenty-three glass panels crafted between 1952 and 1956. This project was a collaboration with the restoration architect Émile Deschler and sculptor Lambert-Rucki. Additionally, Loire was commissioned to create the Stations of the Cross, confessionals, altar furnishings, statues of Saint Joseph and the Virgin, chandeliers, secondary altars, and hangings during the same period.
