Union Nautique is a private organization established in 1885 that offers bathing in Lake Gérardmer and various sports activities, including rowing, fencing, swimming, and skating. On April 18, 1886, it received permission to construct a first building on the shores of the lake, which included a boathouse, paid bathing cabins, and a boarding dock. Recognizing the sporting significance and reputation of Union Nautique, the city of Gérardmer acquired the sports facilities by 1942 and delegated their management to the Gérardmer sports association. The aim is to enhance the nautical port and contribute to the growth of Gérardmer as a spa and tourist destination.
