35 cours Léopold ; 5 rue Baron-Louis, Nancy, France

In the early 1920s, France faced a significant housing crisis, particularly affecting students. At the University of Nancy, student enrollment was steadily increasing. In response, the Diocese of Nancy-Toul and the Jesuit order acquired a private mansion through the Société immobilière du Cours Léopold. This building was converted into a residence for the Groupe des Étudiants Catholiques (G.E.C.), established in 1913. The facility aims to provide students with living conditions that support their material needs, enhance intellectual pursuits, foster cultural, moral, and religious development, and prepare them for future responsibilities.
