25 rue Dabilly, Tours, France
Located to the west of downtown Tours, the public Lycée Albert-Bayet and private Lycées Saint-Vincent and Notre-Dame-la-Riche lacked sports facilities at the dawn of the 2000s, necessitating long commutes for students. The release of a site designated in the land use plan enabled the initiation of an architectural competition in 2005 for the construction of a gymnasium on a small plot along Rue Dabilly, in the Lamartine neighborhood. The young architects from La Rochelle, Julie Boutet, Bertrand Pourrier, and Vincent Chervier, of the ABP agency, were selected as winners. The project, overseen by the OPAC of Tours, was completed in November 2008.
