Lycée Pierre-et-Marie-Curie

Education · by Jacques Barge, Pierre Bouguin · 1956

31 rue Pierre-et-Marie-Curie, Châteauroux, France

The Lycée Pierre-et-Marie-Curie in Châteauroux was initiated in the 1930s as a girls' school with boarding and day student options, but its construction was delayed by World War II. The project finally began in 1954, with architects Pierre Bouguin responsible for the day school and Jacques Barge for the boarding facilities. The complex is designed to accommodate 1,100 students at the equivalent levels of middle and high school. Situated on a 2.5-hectare site to the east of Châteauroux's train station, it is near Boulevard de Bryas, part of the beltway circling the city center.
