boulevard de Verden, Saumur, France

The city of Saumur, traversed by the Loire and Thouet rivers, lacked swimming facilities during the first half of the 20th century due to unsuitable currents. In alignment with the Vichy government's educational and sports policy, the municipality planned to build an "indoor swimming pool for use in summer and winter" starting in 1941. An initial study was assigned to architect Prevost, who considered several locations for the new facility, including "La Boire Quentin" and "Clos Coutard." However, the project was ultimately abandoned.
