Lotissement de dix maisons

Urban planning · by Lucien Kroll · 1981

Route du Coteau, Roche-Clermault (La), France

Belgian architect Lucien Kroll has established participatory design as a core principle of his work since the 1972 construction of the Mémé student house in Belgium. By using simple software, he engages future residents in the planning process. For the project in Laroche-Clermault, located between Chinon and Saumur, Kroll draws from the input of the village’s 450 residents. The aim, commissioned by OPAC and the local municipality, is to seamlessly integrate a set of social housing into the surrounding social and natural environment, reflecting a commitment to sustainable architecture.
