Résidence Grand Horizon
House · by Narkisian Jean-Georges · 1973
boulevard Amiral-de-Grasse, Toulon, France
The "Grand Horizon" residence is a housing complex designed by architect Jean Georges Narkisian, developed between 1966 and 1973. Originally conceived in 1962, the project aimed to integrate the architecture with the surrounding environment by preserving existing trees. Initially planned with 15 units, the design was adjusted to 11 units to better fit the site while creating a parking area that accommodates both the number of residences and the landscape. Narkisian’s approach reflects a consideration for nature within urban development, emphasizing the relationship between the buildings and their outdoor settings.
