Urban planning · by Jacques Mattern · 1971
8-38 rue de l'aérodrome ; 25-27 rue Hélène Boucher, Montbéliard, France
The Les Bois de Courcelles housing development comprises nineteen villas designed for executives of the Peugeot-Sochaux factories in Montbéliard. It is one of the notable works by architect Jacques Mattern, who has completed nearly four hundred projects in the city and surrounding area, including the nearby outdoor swimming pool established in 1962 and recognized as a part of 20th-century heritage. This project is part of the ZUP La Petite-Hollande development, initiated in 1963 across the canal from the city center.
