1 rue Michel Strogoff, Cergy, France
The Lycée Jules Verne represents the second generation of high schools built in new urban areas, developed under the oversight of public entities. The project emphasizes versatility, particularly in industrial education. Located in a peri-urban context, it sits in the last unurbanized sector of the new city. Its original layout prioritizes the separation of technical and general education, ensuring equal emphasis on both. Aesthetic references draw from tertiary architecture and aeronautics, projecting a modern vision for technical education. The “high-tech” architecture enhances the importance of technical teaching with its monumental dimensions and forward projection on the site.
